The new students arrive at the University of St.Gallen on Monday, 9 September 2019. Depending on the group the students are allocated to, the Freshers’ Week either commences with the Opening Event, which takes place in the Audimax or the Aula, or finding their group first. The students who need to find their group first will be welcomed by their tutors who lead their group throughout the week. Afterwards, a challenging and exciting schedule will be completed.
Each Freshers' Week group receives an individual group plan for the week, which outlines the course of the week. This includes the administrative introduction consisting of induction sessions to the Library, InfoTools, campus tour, study and examination requirements, as well as acquisition of first-semester reader and group photo. In addition, time will be allocated for the work on the case study.
The group-specific plan is complemented by plenary sessions such as keynote presentations, a group-specific evening programme, as well as the Closing Event as the highlight of the week.
On Thursday morning, the induction sessions are completed by then and the groups will add the final touches to their case study outputs. The results will be presented on Friday morning to a preliminary committee, which selects the 12 finalist groups sending them through to the final.
During the big Closing Event, the finalist groups hold their presentations in front of a large audience. The winning group will be selected by a judging panel of four experts.
